Easy to hit, but interesting comparison to my 9 iron. The spin rate was 4562 with the Hybrid and the 9 iron spin rate was 8556, the apex was 59 feet versus 64.7 feet with the 9 iron. Ball speed was 81.3 mph vs 88.6 mph. Distance was 109.5 vs 115.3 yards. I did not care for the X-TECH grips.
Well nothing is perfect is it - look at the Wales XV ! But listening to Sam Torrance who has no axe to grind just plain nous I bought the Pitching wedge - the rest is history . I was a lifelong Ping man but 6 iron to pitching wedge I’m converted. As the review says CCC for Eleven clubs and they make me look forward to playing and the result. With winter mats and soggy fairways we need the assurance these clubs give . Will I try the super Hybrid or the Driver maybe Santa lives in Hereford .
Having not played for 20 years , I decided to start playing again with my now adult son last year. Although I was never much more than a weekend warrior I was not able to hit the ball at all. It was really depressing and I considered quitting again. I had seen many reviews on you tube of the eleven hybrids and decided a last punt on the game and purchased a 7 hybrid iron. What a difference. So much easier to hit. I took the plunge and bought the 5 up to the Pw. I’ve now had 7 rounds with them and it’s the best I’ve ever played and more importantly the most enjoyable. No more standing over the ball and 2nd guessing whether I would shank it or not. Honestly a great product for those of us who just want to play without hours of lessons.
I infected in a Ping 7 Hybrid about a year ago - really good club
I have some arthritis in my hands so taking divots or (more usually) hacking out the rough did cause some symptoms
Had my eye out for 9 Rescue and I saw this online in one of the golf magazines - for £95 (£5 extra for excellent jumbo grip)
If you put it next to the Ping you would see the build quality is much the same - and it does what its supposed to and I hardly use my irons any more - its a 39 degree loft so works well with bump-and-run shots
I would recommend this club and service to anyone - there a slight glitch when ordering but my email to the company was answered within 20 mins and I got a call from the Managing Director to apologise - I would say this company would be my first port of call for any future needs - I'm very happy to recommend
